Name Kids Cafe's NEW Neighborhood Fridge
Sep 30th, 2020 // Tina Brohlin
NEW Kids Cafe Neighborhood Fridge Needs a Name Inspired to offer additional hunger-relief within the neighborhood we work in, Kids Cafe staff launched a neighborhood fridge. The fridge will offer nutritious grab and go meals, available FREE for neighbors in need Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. The fridge will also offer shelf-stable items Friday afternoons to help provide neighbors with food over the weekend. The fridge is located outside of the Kids Cafe Gilliland Community Kitchen, 2199 SE 8th Ave, on the south side of the building.Maribel Sotelo (right), director of kids cafe, said they plan to provide 30-50 meals per day to anyone who needs a good meal. Joaquin Trice (left), Kids Cafe staff, designed and painted the fridge with help from a friend, using a bright, friendly space theme.Similar programs have launched in other communities. If successful, Kids Cafe hopes to grow the program by working through partner agencies to offer neighborhood fridges in other areas. We'd love your help in choosing a great, locally inspired, name for the fridge. Submit your idea, here: https://hpfb.org/kidscafeKids Cafe also seeks community partners to help stock the fridge. Businesses and organizations that are interested may contact Maribel Sotelo, director of Kids Cafe at 806-374-8562.We're Still Here to Serve!
